When you receive a task in DataScope, you can complete it from the mobile app or directly from the Web Platform, depending on the task's settings.
💡 Where do I complete my task?
If you want to... | Do this |
Complete the task from your phone | In the app, go to Assigned Tasks |
Complete the task from your computer | In the Web Platform, go to Task Assignments and select the Complete task icon in the Actions column |
Accept or reject a voluntary task | From the app or from the Web Platform |
Find a specific task in the app | Use the Search in list bar or the Assigned Tasks filter |
📱 Completing a task from the app
When a task is assigned to you, you receive a notification on your device. To see it, open the DataScope app and go to Assigned Tasks, where all the tasks assigned to your user appear.
The screen has two tabs: Pending and Completed. Within Pending, tasks are grouped into sections, for example Plannings, Overdue, and In progress. At the top you'll find the Search in list bar and the filter icon.
In the list, each task shows its name, its ID, its date, and the place. If the task has a place, the map icon lets you see its location.
When you open the task, a blue button with an i appears in the bottom-right corner. With it, you can see the description and the list of additional tasks.
To learn more, see: How can I view the description and checklist of an assigned task?
➡️ Mandatory tasks
If the task is mandatory, it will be available directly in Assigned Tasks.
Open the DataScope app.
Go to Assigned Tasks.
In Pending, find the task you need to complete and select it.
If you need to review the description or the list of additional tasks, tap the blue button with an i.
Answer the associated form and submit it.
➡️ Voluntary tasks
If the task is voluntary, you first need to decide whether you want to do it:
Go to Assigned Tasks.
Find the voluntary task. Its card shows the Accept and Reject buttons.
Choose Accept or Reject.
If you accept the task, you'll be able to open the form and complete it, following the same steps as a mandatory task.
If you reject it, the task disappears from your assigned tasks in the app.
➡️ Tasks from plannings
Tasks that come from a planning appear in the Plannings section of Pending. Each card shows the planning's name, its progress (for example, 1/1 tasks), and its frequency (for example, Daily).
If the planning is based on a meter, the card also shows how much is left (for example, 250 h), the projected date, the meter, and the associated asset.
To learn how they work, see: Planning
💻 Completing a task from the Web Platform
You can also complete tasks directly from the Web:
➡️ Mandatory tasks
Log in to the DataScope Web Platform.
Go to Task Assignments.
Find the task you want to complete.
In the Actions column, select the Complete task icon (an arrow inside a circle).
The message Do you want to complete this task now? will appear. Confirm.
The associated form will open so you can answer it.
Complete and submit the form.
➡️ Voluntary tasks
Log in to the DataScope Web Platform.
Go to Task Assignments.
Find the task and, in the Actions column, select the Complete task icon.
A message will appear for you to choose whether you want to Accept or Reject the task.
If you accept, the associated form will open so you can answer it.
Complete and submit the form.
If the Complete task icon appears gray, the option isn't available for that task.
In the Web Platform, you can also use the date, place, form, status, users, assets, task ID, and origin filters to find a specific task.
🔎 Searching for a task in the app
In Assigned Tasks, the Search in list bar finds tasks by:
The form's name.
The place's name.
The task's description.
The task's ID, typed in full.
Keep in mind that:
The search is not case-sensitive or accent-sensitive: searching "revision" finds "Revisión mensual".
The ID is searched in full: typing "24" doesn't return task 1024.
It works with and without a connection. With a connection, it searches across all your tasks, not just the ones loaded on screen.
The search combines with the applied filters: it narrows down what you already filtered.
The task card shows the form's name and, if it was renamed, its current name.
You can also use the filter, represented by a funnel icon, to filter your tasks by date and place.
⏰ What happens if the task is overdue?
This depends on how the task was configured.
If responding late is allowed: you'll be able to open the task and complete the form after the established date or duration.
If late responses aren't allowed: the task can't be completed once the time frame has passed.
❓ Can't find your task?
If you can't see a task, check the following:
Location: in the app, you're in Assigned Tasks. On the Web, you're in Task Assignments.
Tab: in the app, check whether the task is in Pending or in Completed.
Date filters: check the applied date range. On the Web, a 15-day range is shown by default.
Time frame: if the task is overdue and late responses aren't allowed, it can no longer be completed.
Rejected voluntary task: if you rejected it, it disappears from your app.
Connection and permissions: check that you have an internet connection and that your user has the necessary permissions.
💡 ProTip: if you only want the user to be able to answer assigned tasks, set their permissions by selecting only the View assigned forms option.
If you've checked everything and the task still doesn't appear, contact the Support team and provide the task's ID and the user it was assigned to.
🌐 Do I need an internet connection?
Accepting or rejecting tasks can be done from the app with or without an internet connection.
