When completing forms in DataScope, you can use your device's keyboard spell check and autocorrect to help you catch and fix mistakes while typing.
This setting depends on the operating system and, on Android, can vary depending on the device's manufacturer.

The steps can vary depending on the manufacturer and Android version.
In general:
Open Settings on your device.
Look for Languages and keyboard or Languages and input methods.
Go into the keyboard settings.
Look for the Spell checker option and turn it on.
Note: the name and location of these options can vary depending on the device model and the keyboard you're using.
🍎 iPhone or iPad
To turn on autocorrect on iOS devices:
Open Settings.
Select General.
Go to Keyboard.
Turn on Auto-Correction.
You can also turn on other keyboard options, such as Check Spelling, based on your needs.
📱 Does this work within DataScope?
Yes. Once you turn on the spell checker or autocorrect on your device, you'll be able to use it while typing answers in DataScope's forms.
Important: the spell checker is a feature of your device's keyboard and operating system, not a DataScope setting.
⚠️ Be careful with numeric fields like a national ID number
If your form has questions where you type an identifying number, such as a national ID number, keep in mind that the keyboard's spell checker, autocorrect, or predictive text can change what you typed without you noticing, altering a digit or character.
We recommend temporarily turning off spell check or autocorrect when completing this type of question, or carefully reviewing the entered value before continuing, to avoid the data being recorded incorrectly.

If the spell checker isn't working within DataScope:
Check that it's turned on in your device's settings.
Make sure you're using the keyboard that has this feature configured.
Check that the keyboard's language matches the language you're typing in.
