From the Home section of the Web Platform, you can use the Place filter to find answers associated with a specific place.
DataScope currently has a New Places Version and an Old Places Version. Both can coexist on the same account during the transition period.
📍 How does the Place filter work?
The Place filter lets you find answers where a Place was recorded or selected.
For example, you can use it to search for answers associated with:
A branch.
A plant.
A warehouse.
An office.
A client.
Another place used in your operation.
In the Home section, select Place and choose the place you want to check.
📌 This filter also lets you find assigned tasks at a specific place, not just form answers.
🆕 If you use the New Places Version
The New Places Version is found under the Places module in DataScope's main menu.
This version lets you organize places through a hierarchical structure of places and sub-places.
For example:
Company
Plant
Warehouse
Production
Places can be used as a data source in forms and also to filter information from Home.
To use a Place in a form, you need to associate it with a question compatible with data sources and select Places as the source.
🗂️ If you use the Old Places Version
The Old Places Version works through lists managed from: Settings and Help > Lists.
If your account still uses this version, you can keep using those places as a data source in your forms.
In this case, the form needs a question compatible with a data source, connected to the corresponding list.
💡 If you need to bulk upload your places in this version, see: How do I bulk upload a list?
🔄 Can I use the New and Old Places Versions at the same time?
Yes. Both versions can coexist on the same account during the transition period.
This means some forms can use Places from the new version, while others can keep using place lists from the previous version.
📌 Important: how you manage places depends on the version your account uses. The New Version is managed from the Places module, while the previous version is managed from Settings and Help > Lists.
🔎 How do I use the filter in Home?
Log in to the DataScope Web Platform.
Go to Home.
Select the Place filter.
Select the Place you want to check.
DataScope will show the answers associated with the selected Place.
You can combine this filter with other criteria, such as:
Date
Form
User
Status
Question
Result
This lets you run more specific searches.
🔐 Do Places permissions affect the results?
Yes.
The permissions configured in Places can determine which places a user can view or use, and which answers they can check.
If a user doesn't have access to a certain Place, they may not have access to the information associated with that Place.
That's why, if you can't find an answer when filtering by Place, you should also check your user's permissions.
❓ Can't find the Place you're looking for?
If a Place doesn't show up in the filter, check:
That the Place exists on your account.
That you're using the correct Places version.
That the Place is associated with the corresponding form.
That the user has permissions to access the Place.
That there's at least one answer associated with that Place.
If you just created or modified a Place, also check that the form is using the corresponding data source.
📌 Remember
The Place filter in Home lets you find answers associated with places registered in DataScope.
How you manage these places depends on the version your account uses:
New Version: main menu → Places.
Old Version: Settings and Help > Lists.
Both versions can coexist during the transition period.
