Configure the minimum number of signatures per group

How to set a quorum per group in Electronic Signature

Written by Jessica Franco

If an Electronic Signature request requires approval from multiple people, you can create a signer group and define how many of them must sign before the request moves forward.

This is especially useful for teams working in shifts or when any member of the group can complete the signature.

What is a quorum?

A quorum is the minimum number of people in a signer group who must sign before the request can move to the next step.

Example: If a group has 5 signers and you configure "At least 3 must sign", the request will automatically continue once 3 people have signed.

📌 How do I configure the minimum number of signatures?

  1. Open the Signature configuration.

  2. Create a new request or edit an existing one.

  3. Add a group with two or more signers.

  4. Above the group, you'll see the "At least [N] must sign" option.

  5. Use the + and buttons to set the minimum number of required signatures.

  6. Save the configuration.

Note: The "At least [N] must sign" option is only available for groups with more than one signer. If the group has only one signer, that person must sign for the request to continue.

📌 What happens when the minimum number of signatures is reached?

Once the group reaches the configured minimum number of signatures:

  • The request automatically moves to the next group or the next step in the workflow.

  • Group members who have not yet signed will no longer see the request as pending.

  • Those users will stop receiving signature reminders for that request.

If any signer rejects the request, the entire signature process will be canceled, just as it is today.

📌 Which signature workflows support this feature?

The minimum signature requirement is available for both:

  • Sequential signatures, where each group signs in the defined order.

  • Simultaneous signatures, where all signers receive the request at the same time.

In both cases, the request automatically continues once the group reaches the configured minimum number of signatures.
