Differences between the DataScope mobile app and web platform

Written by Jessica Franco

DataScope is designed to fit your team's needs both in the field and in the office. That's why we have two complementary interfaces: the mobile app and the web platform. Below, we show you what you can do in each one and what their main differences are:

📌 Mobile app (Android and iOS)

Designed for users who work in the field, it lets you carry out key actions quickly and from anywhere:

Main features:

  • Complete assigned or available forms.

  • Create tickets directly from the app.

  • Add signatures, photos, annotations, and geolocation.

  • Work offline and sync data once your internet connection is restored.

  • Check the history of completed answers.

  • Access pending tasks.

  • Receive push notifications with assignments, tickets, or reminders.

Typical use cases:

  • Field inspections.

  • Photo reports.

  • Data collection with GPS.

  • Tracking operational tasks.

📌 Web platform

Designed for users who manage the operation from the office, with more options for administration, analysis, and configuration.

Main features:

  • Create and edit forms.

  • Configure workflows, ticket types, assets, tasks, and signature panels.

  • Assign forms and tasks to users.

  • View answers received in real time.

  • Generate reports and export data to Excel or Google Sheets.

  • Access dashboards with metrics.

  • Manage users, groups, and permissions.

Typical use cases:

  • Initial account setup.

  • Data supervision and analysis.

  • Team coordination and decision-making.

Which one should you use?

  • If you're in the field, using a phone or tablet: use the mobile app.

  • If you're planning, configuring, or analyzing information: access the web platform from your computer's browser.

Both platforms are synced, so what you do in one is reflected in the other.
